This is a real Souvenir Souvenir Jacket made from a U.S. Army poncho. The date of manufacture is unknown. The YKK zipper used is made of aluminum and has an old hook on the back, so it is assumed that it was manufactured around 1970's. The zipper is made of aluminum, so it is fragile. It needs to be maintained with wax when before worn. The collar is large and distinctive. The original poncho is in reasonable condition as it has been used quite a bit. There are small holes, stains, etc. The U.S. Army poncho is constructed of nylon fabric sandwiched between nylon fabric and man-made polyester cotton, so it is very warm. This jacket can be used as a liner or as an outer layer for a short outing. There is no embroidery on the back, so it might be fun to add your own embroidery. It is up to you how you enjoy it.
