This is an actual U.S. Navy G-1 flight jacket from a 1960s lot. It is a size 42 and a popular size. The Navy's G-1 was developed in the 1930s and was worn mainly by fighter pilots in the Marine Corps as well as the U.S. Navy, and began to be used in earnest in the 1940s, with the A-2 of the U.S. Army Air Corps, which was its rival, also active during that period. It is a leather flight jacket with a long history, having been used until the 1970s. The Army was involved in the development of this jacket, but as a result, it was used by the Navy and Marine Corps. It was officially adopted again in 1984 due to high demand.

This G-1 flight jacket is a very popular size (42) and has been kept in very good condition with little hardening or deterioration of the leather. It has an early illustration of Snoopy on the chest, done locally. Unlike other branches, the Navy has some looser regulations on flight jackets, and many of their flight jackets are unique, with patches and illustrations applied by individual pilots. This one is one of them and has a great atmosphere with a high level of fashion. The zipper is open in the photo, but it is movable. The zipper is movable, and although the movement is a little sluggish, it can be opened and closed without any problem. The zipper is made of CONMAR brass. The boa has little wear and is still a very serviceable jacket. This is a flight jacket for fighter pilots who fly at low altitudes, so this leather jacket is mainly used in spring and fall. In winter, you may find the warmth of the jacket to be insufficient, so you will need to put it on. In that sense, a larger flight jacket is a good option. It is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
