This is a privately procured boonie hat used by U.S. Air Force pararescuemen in the 1960s.
It is a locally made hat that was sold at PXs and city stores at the time, and is thought to be a modified cowboy style hat. The patches are also locally made and have the names of the Air Force bases to which they belonged, one of which is the name of Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon at that time). The hat was actually used in those days, so it has some stains, deterioration, etc. The chinstrap was originally used. The chinstrap seems not to have been used originally and is tied as it was at that time. It is a very good item as a privately procured item as it seems to have been procured at that time. It is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
