This is an introduction of a Tiger Stripe top and bottom set that was contracted in 1970 and has a very valuable contract tag still in existence. The contract number is DAJB09-70-C-TO74, and from the number at the beginning, we can guess that the contract was signed in Okinawa or Taiwan. From the fabric and tiger stripe pattern, we can guess that it was probably made in Okinawa, Japan. Considering the quality of the fabric and the print, we guess that it was made in Taiwan.

The lot control number is TO74, and the 74 part and other numbers are stamped on the lot, so we assume that it was used for other deliveries as well. It should be noted that "TIGER STRIPE" is used without a contract tag. The size is MEDIUM, but as indicated, it is an ASIAN size.

The contract tag has "LONG BINH," which is the name of a place in Vietnam, written inside the tag, and there is information that it is locally made in Vietnam. The reason for this is that there was a "LONG BINH" base in LONG BINH at that time, which was also a supply and maintenance base. It is assumed that after procurement, the goods were delivered to the Long Binh base, which was a hub, and then supplied to bases where they were needed.

The Tiger stripe pattern itself is similar to that of the Okinawa Tiger, but the details are different,

It is assumed that this lot was produced in 1970, a short time after the Tigers were manufactured in Okinawa, and soon after the Tigers were manufactured in Korea and Taiwan. In that sense, it is assumed that this is a very valuable lot that was produced in a later year, but with little use and with these contract tags still on it. This is truly an extremely valuable set. This is one of the finest pieces in the Tiger Stripe collection. A wonderful item with a clear background. Don't miss it!
