In the late 1960s, when the U.S. was deep in the jungles of Vietnam, the combat uniform was the soldiers' second skin - the jungle fatigues jacket. This is the 3rd model of the 1968 contract, a one-of-a-kind item in good condition. In addition, it is a very atmospheric piece with a troop patch sewn on the chest that reads " RUTHLESS RIDERS. RUTHLESS RIDERS (
RUTHLESS RIDERS" refers to the 7th Company, 17th Cavalry Regiment (7-17 CAV), an air cavalry unit that belonged to the 1st Cavalry Division of the US Army during the Vietnam War. The unit was known for its aircraft maneuver operations, reconnaissance activities, and intense combat, and was an elite unit responsible for intense engagements in jungle areas using helicopters. It is assumed that the jacket was made by a soldier belonging to that unit, who sewed on the patch only but did not use it. Therefore, there are no other insignia sewn on it.
The Jungle Fatigue 3rd model is a mid-term specification that has been improved to be lighter and more practical by eliminating the gas flap that existed until the 2nd model. It is made of 100% cotton poplin fabric, which is both breathable and quick-drying in tropical climates, and has four three-dimensional pockets, adjustable cuffs, and other details designed for actual combat use.
The size is Medium-Regular and can be found in the actual measurements below. Overall, the condition is very good, with no noticeable damage and the fabric remains firm. We confidently recommend this item for both collection and practical use. This is a piece that speaks to you with its unique patches, while being cloaked in the atmosphere of the Vietnam War era. Among the few 3rd models in existence, this is one that "speaks" in particular. This is a must-have item for military collectors and fashion lovers alike.
