This Japan Jacket is estimated to be from the late 1940s to early 1950s. It is a short jacket like the Ike Jacket of the U.S. Army with a button waist closure. It has embroidery on the back, abdomen, and sleeves. The tiger on the back is embroidered in a particularly large size and is of excellent quality. For embroidery this large, it is necessary to work only on the back part. Therefore, it indicates that the item was made to order, or that mass production in this size was already possible. All the embroidery is done by hand (machine) and is very delicate. The edges of the tiger's stripes have gold brion threads to give the stripes a shiny, crisp look. The gold brion does not penetrate to the back, so we assume that it was hand-stitched in later. The embroidery on the sleeves and abdomen is different from the embroidery on the back, but they are also hand-embroidered of very high quality. The jacket is made of a thin silk fabric, and when held up to the light, some small holes can be seen. There is a small scratch on the back collar. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
