This is a cut out piece of a suit bag with tiger stripe fabric that was privately procured around the late 1960s to early 1970s, estimated to be from the late 1960s to early 1970s. The pattern is a relatively late tiger stripe pattern called Zig Zag. This pattern was rarely used in war zones, and was mainly used in Okinawa and other places for locally made items that were privately procured by Marine Corps soldiers. This fabric was also originally used by a Marine Corps soldier who embroidered his service record as a commemorative, which suggests that he procured a suit bag as a souvenir of a tour he participated in and embroidered it. It was probably made in Okinawa. The embroidered text is a record of the places this soldier went to after joining the Marine Corps, including where he trained, the battlefields he visited, and the places he stopped at upon his return. The global anchor has a patch sewn on it, and the rest of the embroidered letters include the individual's name, recognition number, and the branch to which he belonged. Although it is a clipped item, it is a wonderful item that is typical of the Vietnam War. It would make a wonderful interior decoration if placed in a frame, etc. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand that it is a used item and cannot be returned.
Size: 52 cm (length), 78 cm (width) (approximate size due to the distorted shape)
