This item is temporary out of stock

We’ve just received a wonderful OG-107 utility shirt that strongly evokes the history of the U.S. Army Special Forces, the “Green Berets,” from the mid-1960s, as the Vietnam War was intensifying.

This particular piece is a highly appealing original item that retains the exact specifications worn by special forces soldiers at the time.

The biggest highlight, without a doubt, is the array of magnificent insignia preserved from the chest to both sleeves and the collar.

On the left sleeve is the U.S. Army Special Forces unit insignia, symbolic of the Green Berets. The unique design—combining a sword and three lightning bolts—symbolizes special operations capabilities across land, sea, and air, and is an indispensable element when discussing special forces during the Vietnam War era.

Sewn above it is the “AIRBORNE” tab, which strongly emphasizes the uniform of a Special Forces soldier with airborne qualifications.

The right sleeve features a unit insignia with a lightning bolt motif, which is another detail that makes a strong statement.

On the chest are a “U.S. ARMY” name tape and a “TAYLOR” personal name tape. Additionally, the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) and the Parachutist Badge are arranged side by side.

The CIB, in particular, is an important insignia signifying combat experience, awarded to infantry officers and enlisted personnel who have met specific criteria; together with the Parachutist Badge, it greatly enhances the shirt’s appeal as a piece of military gear.

Attached to the collar are the rank insignia indicating the rank of captain and the branch insignia—crossed rifles—representing the Infantry branch.

The sight of all these insignia together is truly impressive, making this a highly authentic piece that evokes the uniform of U.S. Army Special Forces from that era.

During the Vietnam War, the Green Berets carried out important missions that differed from those of regular combat units.

Their duties were wide-ranging, including training and advising the South Vietnamese Army and local ethnic minority units, defending border areas through the CIDG (Civilian Irregular Defense Group) program, and conducting reconnaissance operations.

The mid-1960s, in particular, marked a period when the war rapidly escalated due to the U.S. military’s full-scale ground intervention.

Set against the backdrop of that turbulent era, the OG-107 shirt transcends the category of mere military workwear and can be considered a special item that evokes the history of the Vietnam War itself.

The body is made from OG-107 cotton satin fabric, iconic of the U.S. military.

Its appeal lies in the substantial feel of the fabric and the unique texture that softens and molds to the body with wear. You can appreciate the polished design typical of utility shirts from that era, including the front button closure, left and right flap chest pockets, and a simple, clean silhouette.

What’s particularly noteworthy about this specific piece is its size.

The size is marked as 16 1/2 × 36.

With a neck circumference of 16 1/2 inches and a sleeve length of 36 inches, it’s a relatively generous fit—a welcome feature for a vintage OG-107 shirt.

It offers plenty of room even for Japanese men, and while it’s perfect as a shirt, it’s also recommended for styling as a light jacket.

Among the utility shirts of that era—which tend to be on the smaller side—this size is a major selling point.

What’s most remarkable is that this is an original piece with all the Green Beret-spec patches still intact from that era.

Unlike restored pieces where patches were added later, the fact that you can enjoy the shirt’s original military ensemble as it was back then is a crucial point for lovers of vintage military gear.

With the insignia on the chest, unit patches on both sides, and rank insignia on the collar all intact, this shirt truly symbolizes the U.S. Army Special Forces of the Vietnam War era.

With this background and level of detail, the OG-107 shirt stands head and shoulders above ordinary utility shirts.

Not only does it hold significant value as part of a military collection, but it also exudes an overwhelming presence when actually worn.

This is a special shirt that we highly recommend for anyone looking for Green Beret gear from the Vietnam War era or who is particular about pieces that still feature the original patches from that time.

The patches are original to the era.
